turki alqahtani is a media artist & filmmaker who captures arab motifs in bright, vibrant, and dynamic patterns
often positioning himself as both artist and subject, alqahtani explores arab visual culture through new media techniques and repitition
raised in bahrain, alqahtani began capturing everyday surroundings, experimenting with digital techniques that gradually shaped his artistic practice
in 2022, after earning an msc in digital marketing, alqahtani transitioned into a digital heritage role, where he continues to apply contemporary methods for cultural expression
in 2023, his artistic growth was developed by a residency at the misk art institute, under the mentorship of nelson crespo, computing & technology coordinator at the royal college of art
in 2024, alqahtani was mentored by esteemed saudi artist hmoud alattawi through the visual arts commission mentorship & guidance program. alqahtani participated in the silent age of singularity exhibition at prince faisal bin fahd arts hall, where he showcased alongside renowned artists including ahmed mater, samia halaby, nam june paik, and david hockney
alqahtani is currently participating in the inaugural emerging new media artists program at diriyah art futures, and an artist-in-residence at qurma studio, jax district, where he continues to expand his exploration of arab cultural identity through digital forms
